Roland O. Poissant, 78, of Bristol

Roland O. Poissant, age 78, of Bristol, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at home surrounded by family at his side after a lengthy illness.

Born in Fall River, Mass., he was the son of the late Roland and Theresa (Nappi) Poissant. He was the husband of Virginia (Hill) Poissant for 31 years. Roland worked as a bartender at the Common Pub, Bristol for 15 years, and in precious metals at Geib Inc. for 28 years. He also enjoyed crabbing, traveling to Daytona Beach, Sunday rides on motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Keith) Aguiar, Denise Poissant, Donna (Jim) Poissant; sons, Randy (Diana) Poissant, Jason Poissant, and Robert (Corrine) Poissant; brothers, Tony (Kathy) Poissant and Oliver (Donna) Poissant; and sister, Bette Ann Stevens, as well as many nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two cats which he loved dearly, Chewy and Autumn.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or floral arrangements may be sent.

Roland’s relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
