Portsmouth: Two charged with assault in domestic disturbance

PORTSMOUTH — Police arrested two people following a report of a domestic disturbance at a Glen Road home on Sunday, April 28.

Shortly before 7 p.m., officers responded to 62 Glen Road and arrested Edward J. Jolie, 38, of that address; and Chelsea Rose Cornman, 33, of 108 Harrison Ave., Apt. 9, Newport. Officers determined the two had assaulted each other during the incident.

While on the scene, Cornman became combative with officers, according to police. She was charged with domestic assault, two counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, obstructing police, and disorderly conduct (fighting and tumultuous behavior.

Jolie was charged with domestic assault; and domestic vandalism, with malicious injury to property.

Wednesday, April 24

Peter A. Taft, 66, of 36 Elaine Ave., was arrested at his home at about 1:35 p.m. and charged with domestic assault. The alleged victim was a 56-year-old woman who lives in Portsmouth, police said.

Connor Shea Mullen, 20, of 38 Harbor View Road, was charged with violating a no-contact order. Officers arrested him at his home at about 4:15 p.m. The victim was a 20-year-old woman from Portsmouth, according to police. 

Thursday, April 25

Edmund Albert Rego, 52, of 180 Beeden Road, Apt. A, Dartmouth, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, at about 10 p.m. Rego was pulled over on Hedly Street at Longmeadow Road after he was observed committing multiple roadway violations, according to police. He was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, police said.

Friday, April 26

Emily Nicole Georgeu, 28, of 346 Wood St., Apt. 3, Bristol, was charged with DUI, first offense, at about 11:45 p.m. According to police, officers found Georgeu sleeping in the front, passenger seat of her vehicle that was parked in the weigh station on Route 24 South. She was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, police said.
