The annual Grand Illumination lit up the night in downtown Bristol on Sunday, Dec. 4 — a much preferred day over its original Saturday scheduling when dreary weather might have dampened otherwise jolly spirits. Many hundreds turned out to join in the festivities, which included a grand entrance from Santa and Mrs. Claus, choir singing, and festive music.
The marquee moment, as always, was the illumination of the town Christmas Tree, which was brand new this year after the tree used for the past 30 seasons had been retired.
