Maria Adelaide Botelho, 99, of Bristol

Maria Adelaide (Torres) Botelho, 99, of Wood Street passed away on Feb. 1, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Manor. She was the wife of the late Virginio Dos Santos Botelho.  

Born in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joao de Torres and Maria Torres Aguiar. She is survived by her children, Maria Odilia Santos Franco (the late Eleuteiro), Antonio Botelho and his wife Lurdes, Maria Emilia Santos Medeiros and her husband Joao David, and Jorge Santos and his wife Maria.

She was the grandmother of Maria (Gregory) Ursini, Arthur (Lisa) Franco, Nicholas (Meghan) Franco, Paul (Erin) Medeiros, David (Patricia) Medeiros, Jennifer (Jerry) DaSilva, Jorge (Patricia) Santos Jr., Nelson Santos, Marilia (Michael) Lightbody, Susy (Richard Patten) Botelho, Sandy (Mark) Hartley, Lesley (Aaron) Van Leusen, Milene (Richard) Lipovsky, Tony (Melissa) Botelho, Jenny (Philip) Lattuca, Mandy (Cliff) Tavares and Carlos (Carmen) Santos; great grandmother of Marissa Ursini, Justin Ursini, Alexis Franco, Abigail Franco, Nathan Franco, Molly Medeiros, Jacob Medeiros, Kyle Medeiros, Lindsie Medeiros, Penelope DaSilva, Charlotte DaSilva, Ava Santos, Emerson Santos, Aidan Lightbody, Alexandria Botelho, Jacob Patten, Liam Hartley, Owen Hartley, Kazmerik Lipovsky, Zayn Lipovsky, Mia Botelho, Marcello Lattuca and Miguel Santos; and great-great-grandmother of Jaxon Franco. She was the mother of the late Carlos M. Santos.

Mrs. Botelho was educated in Portugal and employed by American Tourister before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 7, at 9 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
