Coggeshall Farm Museum has come out of hibernation just in time for a time-honored tradition: maple sugaring. Visit their sugaring camp, where Coggeshall’s historic interpreters will tap Norway and Sugar maple trees, carve wooden trenchers, and boil maple sap into sugar. Learn about how this New England tradition ties into a variety of topics, from abolition to international shipping. Then, warm up by the farmhouse hearth and enjoy mulled cider and authentic johnnycakes. Maple sugaring is weather-dependent, so check out Coggeshall’s Facebook page to make sure they are tapping.
