Manuel Toste Garcia, 86, Bristol

Manuel Toste Garcia, 86, of Andrews Court, Bristol, passed away on March 15, 2022, at home. He was the husband of Maria (Neves Duarte) Garcia.

Born in Fonte Bastarado, Terceira, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria dos Anjos (Toste) Garcia. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Luis Garcia and his wife Roseanne of New Jersey; Domingos Garcia and his wife Maria of New Jersey; grandchildren: Ashley Hasslinger and her husband Gregg; Louis Garcia; Jennifer Gasperini and her husband David; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Amorin and Christopher Amorin. He is also survived by his brothers: Antonio Sequeira and his wife Maria; Domingos Sequeira and his wife Romualda; Francisco Sequeira and his wife Filomena; and his sister-in-law, Fatima Sequeira. He was the father of the late Joseph Garcia and brother of the late Joseph Sequeira.

Mr. Garcia was educated in Portugal and employed by Brunelli Plumbing as well as American Tourister before retiring.

His funeral services were held March 19 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Jose Rocha at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Lora Pollack and Jennifer Gasperini. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Lisa Costa, and the offertory gifts were presented by Louis Garcia, Dylan Amorin and Christopher Amorin. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Louis Garcia, Dominic Sequeira, Tom Sequeira, Michael Sequeira, David Gasperini, Dylan Amorin and Joseph Pereira.
