Letter: There is no place like Bristol — thank you!

It is with heartfelt thanks and gratitude that I write this letter to thank all of you who came out to support a local girl and her new book, on Aug. 3 at Portside in Bristol. I was completely overwhelmed by the support, generosity, and smiles.

It was an evening that I will never forget. I have gotten to do a lot of traveling and am often asked about home, mainly my resistance to consider living somewhere else, and my answer is always the same. “Have you seen Rhode Island? Have you seen Bristol and the East Bay?”

While our scenery and sunsets are more than spectacular, there is one more component that makes this the only place I will ever call home. (It is even tattooed on my ankle.)  It is every person that makes up this community, the pride we have in our hometown heritage and the love we have for everyone here.

I can’t imagine being anywhere else and raising our girls anywhere else. There is truly no place like home.
