To the editor:
Thank you for welcoming the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (LCS 21) to Bristol. The crew was honored that so many Bristolians took the time to visit MSP and learn about our Littoral Combat Ships. The Commanding Officer of MSP told me of the incredible time his crew had at the Fourth of July Celebration. I know it is an experience they will treasure.
I appreciate your compliments to MSP’s ship handling, their performance embodies the sense of maritime professionalism which we strive to instill in all of our ships and sailors. Additionally, we will ensure their lessons learned are passed to crews that may visit Bristol in the future.
I simply cannot overstate the gratitude for the Town of Bristol’s friendship and partnership with Minneapolis-St. Paul and the United States Navy. We are honored to contribute to the rich tradition of having ships visit Bristol to celebrate our Nation’s independence.
Very respectfully,
Joseph F. Cahill
Rear Admiral, USN
