This fancy new anagram only serves to confuse the issue and obfuscate the problem. Suddenly after the fictional plague of QANON and the real plague of Covid 19, we are treated by the Phoenix to a new pile of steaming Malarkey labelled CRT.
This of course is blamed on Marxist ideology, although Karl Marx has been dead for well over 175 years and his ideology is only useful now as a scaremonger for elderly Americans. Even Lenin is about to be recalled from his tomb by the current Russian leadership.
Whoever is really worried that our kids are being taught that this country is evil can judge for themselves. The Jan. 6, 2021, Insurrection at the Capitol buildings in Washington and the scourge of police murders of black and brown people in our urban centers cannot just be swept away by distracting rhetoric.
Contrary to Mike Byrnes’ beliefs, Americans are not the first people to rebel against slavery and were far preceded by Moses, who led the Jews out of Egyptian bondage 5,000 years ago.
Americans are simply slow learners on both the evils of slavery and of autocratic despots.
We do, however, seem to best appreciate politicians who level with us about the realities of our country, rather than those who preach falsehoods and platitudes.
