Letter: God is part of our Declaration of Independence

Posted

After reading the letter of Paul Salesi (“The 11th Commandment?), I must remind him of the Declaration of Independence, which states “that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

How are we to protect the unalienable right to life if not by defensive weapons? Remember that the police have the public/common safety, not individuals, as its priority.

It’s almost blasphemous to suspect that God is ever surprised by what He creates (the Ten Commandments). Mr Salesi’s last paragraph about some “final edit” speaks volumes of his non-belief in the Almighty’s omniscience.

And please, capitalize any noun, pronoun or adjective used in referring to the Almighty God.
