John W. Bruno, 82, of Bristol

John W. Bruno, 82, of Bristol passed away peacefully in Bristol on Aug. 3, 2021. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Comazzi) Bruno.

Born in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late Anthony and Helen (Sokozovic) Bruno.

John was the Queens, N.Y. Gold Glove Boxing Champion in 1957. He was an avid Elvis fan. John also loved spending time with his friends, especially backyard activities.

John is survived by his sister, Laura Ferrauanti (Joseph). He also leaves behind his close friend, Karen Alegria Cook, and her daughters, Katarina and Meghan.

In death John is reunited with his beloved Mary Ann and his parents.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, are Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
