Huskies fall to Townies in five set marathon
The Mt. Hope volleyball team fell to East Providence 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 25-10, 25-16, 15-17) in a five set marathon on Tuesday night. “It was a back and forth battle,” said Huskies head coach Lisa Lunney.
Mia Shaw, Emma Torres and Sarah Wilcox stood out for the Huskies who dropped their season record to 11-6 in Division II. Shaw, a junior co-captain who switched from outside hitter to setter this season, bashed five kills, dished out seventeen assists and made fourteen digs defensively. Torres, the Huskies senior outside hitter, also had five kills and made 20 digs defensively. Wilcox, a freshman outside hitter led the team with six kills and three aces made sixteen digs defensively. Mt. Hope will host Pilgrim on Thursday at 6 p.m. to finish up their regular season schedule before finding out their playoff fate.
