Emily Rinaldi, 101, of Bristol, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Silver Creek Manor of Bristol. Mrs. Rinaldi was born Jan. 19, 1916 in Bristol. She is the daughter of the late Antone and the late Marie (Almeida) Santos. She married Salvatore William Rinaldi. 

She is survived by one daughter, Pauline DePalma of Bristol; one son, Ronald William Rinaldi of Bristol; two sisters, Irene Riley of Warren, and Alice Rene of Warren; and two brothers, Antone Santos of Bristol, and Edmund Santos of Bristol. She also has two grandchildren, Stacie Rinaldi and Dean DePalma of Bristol; and one great granddaughter, Gianna.

Predeceased by her late husband, Salvatore William Rinaldi; late sisters Mary Wilcox, Lorraine Park and Mabel Aguiar; and late brothers Manuel Santos, Joseph Santos and James Santos.

Services will be private.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
