Five hours after polls opened, just 554 people had voted in Bristol today. According to Bristol Town Clerk Louis Cirillo, there had been 554 votes cast by noon at the Quinta-Gamelin Community Center on Asylum Road, which is the only polling location for today's special election for the House District 68 seat vacated by Laufton Ascencao.

In the November 2018 general election, 4,213 people cast a ballot in the House District 68 race. The polls close at 8 p.m. today.

Today's special election matches Democrat June Speakman against Libertarian William Hunt and Independent candidates Ken Marshall and James McCanna III.
