Clara R. Josephs, 78, of East Falmouth, Mass., passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2020, after a long illness.
Clara was born and raised in Bristol, Rhode Island, where she still has many extended family members. It was there that she met her husband of 57 years, Manuel Josephs.
Even though they traveled throughout the country while raising a family and it had been more than 50 years since Clara resided in Bristol, she always referred to it as “home.”
Clara’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to four children: Christopher Josephs of Fairfax Station, Va., Annemarie McGhee and her husband Jimmy, Leslie Baumann and her husband Kurt, and David Josephs and his wife Jodi, all of East Falmouth. She was also the much loved “Mimi” to eight grandchildren: Ryan Moore, Emily Moore, Kyle M. Geggatt, Jacob Josephs, Lily Josephs, Isabel Josephs, Genevieve Josephs, and Casey Baumann, each of whom had a very special relationship with her. She was the oldest sister to Patricia Head of Sarasota, Fla., and Michael Catalano of Bristol, R.I.
Clara cherished the time she spent surrounded by her family. She loved walking in the woods with numerous family dogs and this was the thing she missed most after she was no longer able to navigate the trails.
Clara will join in Heaven her parents, Michael and Mary (Estrella) Catalano, and brother, Cataldo “Carl” Catalano.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway, East Falmouth. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
