For the second straight week, criminal activity was light, but calls about groups and small gatherings were a frequent occurrence. Following are Bristol Police calls from March 30 to April 5.

Bristol Police: Residents reporting gatherings and groups all over town

For the second straight week, criminal activity was light, but calls about groups and small gatherings were a frequent occurrence. Following are Bristol Police calls from March 30 to April 5.

Monday, March 30

Brian Silva, 30, of 2 Melrose Drive, Bristol, was charged with violation of a no-contact order.

At 8:20 p.m., a King Philip resident complained about a truck that had been parked at a neighboring residence for six hours. An officer investigated and found that the truck belonged to someone who lived at the residence.

Someone complained about a loud noise on Sweeney Lane at 10:25 p.m. An officer responded and spoke to a resident who did not hear anything.

Tuesday, March 31

A caller using the 411 tipline reported a speeding vehicle on St. Theresa Avenue at 6:27 a.m.

Someone used the 411 tipline to report large groups of people with out of state vehicles inside Colt State Park at 3:35 p.m. DEM was notified.

A Sandy Lane caller was concerned about a basketball hoop set up near the road. An officer investigated and found no problems; children were playing basketball with a parent.

An officer dispersed people from the Town Common after a 411 tipline caller reported a large group at 3:44 p.m.

Officers dispersed a large group of people from the town beach and sports complex area at 3:49 p.m.

A Second Street resident filed on online report of larceny.

Someone used the 411 tipline to report a man riding a bicycle and yelling at 6:46 p.m. in the area of State Street and Ryan Avenue. A patrolman responded but did not locate the man.

Wednesday, April 1

A 411 tipster reported a reckless car in the area of Franca Drive at 3:14 p.m.

After receiving a report of a domestic disturbance on Oliver Street at 3:30 p.m., an officer oversaw the removal of one person from the residence.

At 4:41 p.m., a 411 tipster reported large groups of kids playing basketball on Hamlet Drive, as well as large groups of kids “coming and going” all day. An officer responded and found two kids playing basketball with two separate basketballs.

At 6:18 p.m., a 411 tipster reported a blue Chevy pickup truck with loud exhaust and someone yelling in the street.

After being stopped on Hope Street at 10:01 p.m., Mia B. Brum, 41, of 25 Robin Drive, Bristol, was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

A resident reported a loud gathering on Robin Drive at 9:55 p.m. An officer investigated and found one resident speaking on the phone in the backyard.

Thursday, April 2

A 411 tipster reported a blue Chevy truck and a black Dodge being loud on St. Theresa Avenue at 6:08 p.m.

Friday, April 3

A Wood Street resident reported that someone entered their residence and stole his wife’s purse, including money, credit cards and keys.

Someone called 911 to report a large group on Hope Street. A patrolman responded and found people waiting to get into the bank; there were no problems.

An officer dispersed three youths who had gone through a gate to enter the field at Guiteras School at 3:44 p.m.

A 411 tipster reported a white pickup that frequently speeds down the street on St. Theresa Avenue.

An 18-year-old was cited for possession of alcohol after being questioned at 1776 Liquors at 7:49 p.m.

Saturday, April 4

An officer dispersed a man from Tower Street at 8:59 a.m.

Police were called to Patricia Ann Drive at 10:58 a.m. after a resident reported a neighbor tearing down a fence that belonged to him. Both parties were given no-trespass orders for each other’s property.

A man on Tower Street was transported by rescue after requesting assistance at 1:22 p.m.

A caller reported a large gathering with music at 3:32 p.m. on Mt. Hope Avenue. A patrolman responded and found no problem — other than roommates giving each other haircuts.

A caller from Fales Road complained about four vehicles with out of state plates parked in order to gain access to the bike path at 4:22 p.m. An officer responded and found the four cars parked legally.

A caller complained about a large gathering on Anthony Avenue at 4:55 p.m. A patrolman found five people in the backyard, all of whom live together.

A 411 tipster reported people parking to access the bike path along Hope Street at 5:24 p.m. A patrolman found no problems.

A caller reported a large group by a loading dock near Independence Park at 5:46 p.m. An officer responded and found they were practicing proper distancing.

A resident reported a large gathering on King Philip Avenue at 6 p.m.

Between 10:50 and 11:40 p.m., officers received two reports of a man and woman yelling and throwing things at a High Street residence. There were no arrests.

A caller complained of a large gathering with music on Roma Street at 11:45 p.m.

Someone was dispersed after a noise complaint on Hamlet Drive at 11:48 p.m.

Sunday, April 5

A caller stated they could hear neighbors on High Street slamming stuff around at 1:32 a.m.

A Metacom Avenue caller reported hearing loud music and a group of people sitting around a firepit at 1:46 a.m. Officers oversaw the group extinguishing the fire, turning off the music and moving inside for the night.

A 411 tipster reported a white truck speeding down St. Theresa Avenue at 3:08 a.m.

A 411 tipster reported someone from New York not following the quarantining guidelines on Windward Lane. An officer spoke to the person about the mandatory 14-day quarantining period.

A 411 tipster reported a man yelling in the area of Wood and State streets at 2:17 p.m. An officer responded but did not locate him.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Roseland Avenue at 5:14 p.m.

A Seaview Avenue resident reported a white pitbull running loose on Seaview Avenue at 6:45 p.m. The dog was secured back at its residence.

Officers responded to Hopeworth Avenue for someone who was out of control and throwing items at 7:11 p.m. Rescue was called to the scene, and the person was transported to Newport Hospital.

A Mt. Hope Avenue resident reported that someone had been lighting off fireworks and one landed in front of her house at 7:44 p.m.

A Sweeney Lane resident reported that someone drove by his house, threw an item at his care and damaged a rear taillight.

A caller reported hearing people arguing in the rear of a building on Bradford Street at 10:26 p.m. A patrolman found no problems; residents were watching TV.
