Bristol Police responded to noise complaints, loose horses, and made one arrest between Oct. 23-30, 2023.
Monday, Oct. 23
A rescue was called to John Street at 12:21 p.m. following the report of an employee getting into a verbal disturbance with customers.
DEM contacted police about a potentially injured osprey on Poppasquash Road at 12:49 p.m. that they wanted help assisting until they could arrive. The animal control officer reported it flew away before they could respond.
Police looked for juveniles on Tower Street at 3:59 p.m. that were allegedly jumping their bikes out onto the street in the path of vehicles, but no one was found in the area.
Tuesday, Oct. 24
A dog bite was reported on Cole Street at 9:06 a.m.
A Varnum Street resident reported at 12:58 p.m. that their dog was bit by another dog in the neighborhood.
Fraud was reported on Harrison Street at 6:20 p.m.
Loose horses were reported near Woodlawn and DeWolf Avenues at 6:25 p.m. They were corralled by the owner.
Tyler Gow, 18, of Orchard Avenue, Warren, was arrested on a warrant out of Bristol by Warren police and transported into the custody of Bristol PD at 7:47 p.m. He was charged with two counts of vandalism.
Wednesday, Oct. 25
A Franklin Street resident contacted police at 12:02 p.m. to report a phone scam.
Police investigated a report of loud banging coming from Center Street at 7:51 p.m. Police found a parent and juvenile having a band practice session, and the pair agreed to call it quits for the evening.
Thursday, Oct. 26
An employee of the Rhode Island Veterans Home reported at 10:49 a.m. that there was a man holding a knife walking towards Annawamscutt Drive that had threatened to harm himself.
Friday, Oct. 27
Police assisted a man on Hope Street at 1:47 a.m. after receiving a call that he had been knocking on someone’s door asking for help because he was lost. Police gave him a ride.
A rescue was called for a man underneath the Mt. Hope Bridge at 2:58 a.m. following a report they were possibly intoxicated or otherwise incapacitated.
Police received a report that a swan was in the middle of the road at the Poppasquash Road entrance of Colt State Park at 10:46 a.m. They were unsure if the animal was injured.
A resident reported a possible encampment on town property at 11:13 a.m.
Bristol Police contacted Roger Williams Public Safety at 10:48 p.m. following a noise complaint from a loud gathering on Arthur Avenue.
Saturday, Oct. 28
A panhandling man was dispersed from the area of Hope Street and Asylum Road at 11:04 a.m.
A caller reported at 3:15 p.m. that there was a man sitting on a curb on Thames Street across from Bristol Bikes with a hammer, and appeared to be in distress. Police responded to the area but found no one there.
A caller stated that a man threw a chair at their residence on Bay View Avenue before walking away at 7:15 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 29
Police checked on a group of people in the area of Jewett Street at 1:24 a.m. who were reportedly jumping onto vehicles. Police observed no such rowdy behavior.
Police checked Bradford Street at 2:17 a.m. for the report of someone playing a saxophone in the roadway. No late-night musicians were found.
Police responded to Division Street at 10:30 p.m. for a report of multiple people engaged in a fight.
