Alexander Stephen Paiva, 77, of Clipper Way passed away on March 9, 2020, at home. He was the husband of Lorraine A. (Furtado) Bannister Paiva.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Alexander S. Paiva Jr. and Diamantina (Alves) Paiva. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Steven Paiva and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Alicia Paiva, Justin Paiva; great-granddaughter, Ava Paiva; and his sister, Nancy Sousa. He was the father of the late Scott Paiva.
Mr. Paiva was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School. He worked for Meineke Muffler in Johnston and then was the owner of AP Auto Parts. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of the “Quiet Birdman.”
His funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, at 9 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St. with a service at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 339 Hope St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
