Barrington Police responded to the Shaw’s Supermarket in town at about 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, for an attempted shoplifting.

Police said a 5-foot-2 white female in her 40s with dark hair had tried to steal about $800 worth of groceries.

Police said store employees noticed the woman filling her shopping cart with steaks. They then confronted her when she tried to push the cart out the main entrance — they told her she needed to go to the checkout and pay for the food. The woman then wheeled her cart to the checkout, but left it there and fled out of the store.

Police said the woman met up with a tall, skinny white male who had a shirt over his head. The two walked on the bike path towards Warren.

Police searched the bike path but could not find the suspects.
