Barrington Police: Online shopper's car covered in coffee

Was fellow shopper irked by parking spot?

Posted

A woman called Barrington Police at about 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, after she noticed someone had poured coffee all over her car while it was parked outside the Barrington Shaw’s Supermarket.

The woman told police she had parked in one of the online shopping spaces in front of the store for a pickup order when she realized she needed something else from the store.

The woman went inside the market, she said, and when she returned she found that someone had poured coffee on her car. According to the police dispatcher's report, the woman believed that a person who had parked near her and saw her go into the store may have been responsible for the vandalism.

Police did not charge anyone.
