Gas pipe broken atop Barrington school

Officials believe young vandals are to blame

Posted

A Barrington School Department employee called police on Thursday, Dec. 21, after discovering a broken gas pipe on the roof of Hampden Meadows School.

The school employee believes youngsters climbed onto the roof of the school and broke the pipe. Police said it was not the first time kids had climbed onto the school's roof — there was also a situation a few years back when youngsters spray-painted graffiti on school building.

Anyone with information about who may have broken the gas pipe should call the police at 437-3930.
