The Barrington Middle School girls' and boys' cross country teams competed in the state championship meet at Goddard Park on Saturday — the girls' team finished third while the boys' finished seventh.
Tess Gagliano finished second overall in the girls' race and Lindsay Turgeon placed sixth. Gagliano finished just behind North Cumberland's Olivia Belt, who won the girl's race in 11:32.6. Gagliano's time of 11:37.9 was the sixth fastest all-time over the 1.8 mile course, which has been home to the state championship since 2009. Turgeon finished in 12:06.1 (31st all time). The team included Lauren Kolaski, Grace Ceseretti, Liz Duvel, Clara Connelly and Katherine Berryhill.
Lachlan Bishop finished 10th overall and Holden Vaughan finished 20th in the boys varsity race, leading the team to a seventh place finish. Bishop's time of 10:42.2 ranked him 27th all time over the Goddard Park course. The team included Zach O'Conner, Jason Chan-Zervas, Nate Schneider, Max LaRoche, and Finn Myatt.
The Boys JV team also finished seventh and the Girls JV Team finished ninth. The Barrington girls also finished ninth in the Futures Race with the boys finishing 16th. More than 1,600 runners from 47 schools competed on Saturday.
