Valerie E. McPhillips, 95, of Warren, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020, peacefully at home with her daughters Patricia and Kathleen at her side. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. McPhillips.
Mrs. McPhillips was born in Warren, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Levandowski) Nencka.
She was a homemaker. A Warren resident all of her life, she was a parishioner of the former St. Casimir Church, now parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
She was an honorary member of Boystown. She loved to garden and always had beautiful roses in her garden, and she would allow people to come over and pick roses if they wanted to.
She was known for sense of humor and honesty.
Mrs. McPhillips is survived by her children, Lawrence McPhillips, Kenneth McPhillips, Kathleen McPhillips, Patricia Oztunc and Eileen McPhillips. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Charles McPhillips.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., Warren. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours and flowers are omitted. Gifts in her memory may be made to Warren Rescue, 1 Joyce St., Warren RI 02885.
