Luis Medeiros Silva, 93, of Addy Drive, Bristol, was called to God on August 22, 2020 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Isabel Silva for almost 63 years.

Born in Sta. Barbra, Sao Miguel, Acores, he was the son of the late Jose Silva and Maria Jose Medeiros. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Luis M. Silva Jr and his wife Victoria, Isabel Costa and her husband Raul, Theresa Diniz and her husband Joseph, and Lina Oliveira and her husband David; 10 grandchildren Ashley (James) Carter, Katherine Costa, Kristine Costa, Emily Diniz (Christopher Alves), Kassandra Costa, Nathan Silva, Jacob Silva, Sarah Oliveira, Amelia Oliveira and Elena Oliveira; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Carter and Aurelia Carter. He was the brother of Teresa Pereira and the late Jose Medeiros, Antonio Medeiros, Joao Silva, Ermelinda Silva, Maria Marcos and Jacinto Medeiros.

Luis was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church and an active member of the St. Elizabeth Holy Ghost Committee for many years. He was also a member of the Santo Cristo Club. Luis loved spending time with his family, working in his garden and traveling to new places. Mr. Silva was employed by DaPonte Landscaping for 34 years before retiring.

His funeral services were held August 26th with a Mass of Christian burial celebrated by Rev. Marinaldo Batista at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Sarah Oliveira and Ashley Carter. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Kassandra Costa and the eulogy was given by David Oliveira. Burial followed in North Burial Ground. Serving as pallbearers were Ashley Carter, Katherine Costa, Kristine Costa, Emily Diniz, Kassandra Costa, Nathan Silva, Jacob Silva, Sarah Oliveira, Amelia Oliveira and Elena Oliveira.
