Joan Barnowski, 73, Warren

Joan (Ellis) Barnowski, 73, lived most of her life in Warren, died Saturday, August 26th at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Born in Fall River the daughter of the late Warren and Aleena Ellis, she was the wife of William Paul Barnowski. She was also the wife of the late Norman J. Martel, Jr.

She worked as a secretary and more recently worked for CVS as a pharmacy technician. A member of the Cat Fanciers Federation and Cat Fanciers Association she enjoyed showing her Persian Cats. She had a passion for hummingbirds, Elvis Presley and Chihuahuas.

She also leaves her four children, Norman Barnowski and his wife Cindy of Warren; Beth Barnowski Martin and her husband Todd of Swansea; Warren Barnowski and his wife Maria of Warren; and Susan Barnowski Dumkuski and her husband Robert of Warren.

She was the loving grandmother of Michael Barnowski; Jennifer Barnowski; Nikole Gouveia; Victoria Gouveia; Dalton Gouveia; Evangelina Martin; Brandon Barnowski; Cory Barnowski; Kyle Dumkuski; Aarin Dumkuski; Jacob Dumkuski; Robert Dumkuski, Jr.; and Jordan Dumkuski. Great grandmother of Scarlett, Reese and Kayden Grimes.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends, Saturday, September 16th, 1-3pm.
