Silvana deSousa (Silveira) Cordeiro, 87, of Bristol, died Wednesday March 22, 2017 at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol. She was the wife of the late Jose Almeida Cordeiro.
Silvana was born in Relva, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, a daughter of the late Antonio deSousa and Teresa daConceicao, daSilva (Botelho) Silveira.
Mrs. Cordeiro was a homemaker, and has been a Bristol resident for more than 36 years after coming from Portugal. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church.
She is survived by her sons, Jose P. Cordeiro of Warren, Hermano Cordeiro of Bristol, and Terry Cordeiro of Warren; her daughters, Rosa Furtado of Canada, and Teresa Lima of Canada. Mrs. Cordeiro was the grandmother of Marcia, Celia, Carlos, Miguel, Nicole, Ryan, Christine, Brenda, Tatiana and Claire. Also, she was the great grandmother of Ceara, Andrew, Noah, Owen, Khloe, Sebastian, Addison, Sofia, Emma, Parker, James and Leah. She also has five nieces and one nephew. Mrs. Cordeiro was the sister of the late Armando Silveira, Conceicao de Oliveira and Maria Fortunata Ferreira.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 7:45 a.m., from Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Friday, March 24, 2017, 5-8 p.m.
Her pall bearers were Ryan, Carlos, Nate, Eric, Paulo and Manuel.
