Dorothy Marie Brooks, Tiverton

Dorothy Marie (Stoehr) Brooks died peacefully on January 23, 2021.  She was the widow of Arnold C. Brooks.  

Born in Oxford, Maine on April 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Sarah (Lawrence) and George Stoehr.  She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann (Brooks) Procaccini (Dr. Robert Louis) of Pennsylvania; and granddaughter, Dena Catherine Procaccini of Maryland.  She was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers along with her son, Arnold "Skipper" Brooks, and grandson, Eric Robert Procaccini.

She received her R.N. degree from Faulkner Hospital, Boston and worked at Charlton Hospital for many years.  She was an avid bridge player, loved reading, gardening and supporting her Down syndrome son through the Maher Center and Camp Jabberwocky.  

A Tiverton resident since 1949, she was active with the Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton libraries and Pardon Gray Land Trust.
