Amos B. Conley, 74, of Tiverton, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at home in Tiverton. Mr. Conley, “Junior,” was born April 14, 1943, in South Webster, Ohio. He was the son of the late Amos and the late Goldie (Justice) Conley. He was married to Beverly Machado for over 52 years.
He proudly served in the US Navy for over 21 years and retired as a chief warrant officer in 1981. He then worked at Promet Marine as foreman of their shipyard for 20-plus years. He then got his captain’s license and ran dinner cruise yachts White Swan and Majestic.
He loved spending time with his family and traveling whenever possible. If he wasn’t doing that, he was playing and watching golf.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Machado) Conley; his daughter, Terri Potts; and his son, Alan Conley and his wife Marissa. He also survived by his grandchildren, Jackson Potts, James Conley, Julia Conley, and Sydney Conley.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Latinville
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 2-5 p.m. in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
Burial will be private.
