Posted

The East Providence girls' volleyball team thrashed Mt. Hope 3-0 (25-6, 25-17, 25-21) in the Division I preliminary round playoff home game on Monday night.

The 5th-seeded Townies move on to play at 4th seeded Cumberland on Friday at 6 p.m.

"It will be a tight match as the previous two were," said Townies head coach Alex Butler. "The team that serves and serve receives the best will end up winning the match."

Junior setter and hitter Ella Grimley led the Townies in pasting Mt. Hope with eight kills, fifteen assists, three blocks and a pair of aces. Senior outside hitter Vivian Bernhardt added seven kills and three aces.
