Rhode Island General Assembly, House District 67 Question of the week

Question: What do you love most about Barrington and Warren and why?

Nicole Jellinek — Democrat:

My family and I moved to Rhode Island 21 years ago, and what we love most is its strong sense of community. In our neighborhood, people look out for each other’s children and are always willing to lend a hand—even when you’re missing a grocery item! Barrington’s outstanding schools are its heart, nurturing relationships and shaping future generations. Warren’s vibrant arts scene beautifies the town, its restaurants draw visitors, and residents take pride in small-town charm. There's no better place to live!

Joseph DePasquale — Independent:

My love for Warren and Barrington comes down to three things: its people, its scenic beauty, and the unique history of Sowams. District 67 is comprised of hard-working, decent people and it will be an absolute honor to represent them if elected. Because I love the waterfront nature of our district, I am committed to preserving its coastal character. Together, we must honor the original stewardship of the Pokanoket people for this beautiful land we call home.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
