A home on Mathewson Road in Barrington recently sold for $4 million. That is the highest home sale for the entire East Bay so far this year, and is the highest ever for a home on Mathewson Road, according to a press release from Residential Properties Ltd.

RPL Sales Associate Nancy Weaver represented the seller as the listing agent in this transaction, and Elizabeth Kirk and Lisa Schryver of Compass’ Kirk | Schryver Team represented the buyer.

“The current market can be incredibly challenging with so little inventory, so we often need to explore properties not currently listed” said Kirk. “We were thrilled to help secure this stunning, off-market property for our dear friends and clients. Even in the most competitive of landscapes, our team’s commitment remains unwavering.”

The home at 85 Mathewson Road was designed by Barrington architect Scott Weymouth and custom built in 2018 on a one-third-acre harborfront site.

“The blueprints were perfectly drawn to capture panoramic views of all the harbor activities, the Barrington Yacht Club, and beyond!” stated a press release from Residential Properties. “Multiple walls of windows capture sparkling panoramic water views to take in the river and charming Warren in the distance.”

The home features four bedrooms, two and a half baths, two fireplaces, and an open layout. It also has a chef’s kitchen, a primary bed/bath suite, and two waterside glass-enclosed decks.

“The smart, young owners were committed to excellence and specified literally the best of everything for the construction, with each luxurious detail beautifully executed and maintained,” stated the press release from Residential Properties. “As a special bonus, the property is a member of the Harbour’s Association and had a new deep water dock added in 2022.”
