Vincent J. “Jim” Gasparro, 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 23, 2017. He was the husband of Jane (Gianfrancesco) Gasparro.

Born and raised in Warren, a son of the late Carmine and Antonia (Scalera) Gasparro, he was a long-time resident of Barrington.

A proud United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S Iowa, he went to Johnson & Wales University for Business Administration. The owner and operator of Allied Framing Products in Warren, he worked for over 40 years until his retirement in 2008.

A member, past president and speaker chairman of the Barrington Rotary, he was also a member of the Barrington Y.M.C.A. A skilled athlete, he played semi-professional football with the RI Colts in the mid-1950s and ran several road races, winning many awards. He also enjoyed traveling with Jane.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Frank Gasparro and grandchildren, Kara and Frank, Jr.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren. Visiting hours are Thursday, 4:00-7:00PM. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. For more information, see www.wilbur-romano.com.
