Theodore Williams Hale, 89, of Barrington, died on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017. He was the husband of Elaine Hale (Healy), son of the late Roger Williams Lewis Hale and Florence Hale (Alba).
Ted was the owner and president of Braided Products Company. He was an avid yachtsman and a member of Barrington Yacht Club for over 40 years. He was a Korean War Era Navy Veteran. He also served on the board of RIISA, was a former trustee of Save the Bay, and a member of the New England Grand Banks Owners Association. He was a Mason (St. Andrew’s Lodge No. 39), a member of the Sophomores and a charter member of the “Hearthwood Beach Club”.
Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves four daughters, Cynthia Stevens and her husband Michael of Barrington, Kim Hale and her partner Diane Blackwell of Old Lyme, Conn., Nancy Hale of East Providence, and Laura Murphy and her partner Hans Scholl of Barrington, and grandchildren, Ryan Stevens and Kate Williams Murphy. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Virginia Morse, brother-in law John Morse, niece Shelley Pavlis and nephew Steven Morse. He was predeceased by his daughter Amy Williams Hale.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington, RI 02806. Burial will be private.
