Despite slow starts, the Eagles posted two decisive victories at home against North Kingstown and East Greenwich.

Against North Kingstown on Tuesday, May 2, Barrington ended the first half down one goal (5-6), but poured it on for a 13-2 second half and won the game 18-8.

The Eagles were led by Nick Spaight’s five goals and two assists, and Colin Hope’s four goals and two assists. The defense played a solid game, and goalie Ryan Valentine had 11 saves. Chase Squires dominated at the face-off X, winning 21 of 26.

NK drew two separate two minute non-releasable penalties, and Barrington scored three goals during each of them. Other goals were scored by Jake Ignall (3), Ben Parylak (2), Chase Squires (1), Quinn McNamara (2), and Max LaRoche (1)

Another second half surge led to a 17-5 win over East Greenwich on Friday, May 5.

Hope and Parylak led the scoring with four goals each. Not to be outdone by McNamara’s off hand heroics last week, one of Parylak’s goals was a left-handed rocket.

The defense dialed up the physicality and applied more pressure as the game wore on. On top of a combined 15 saves between Valentine and Grant Isdale (14 and 1, respectively), Valentine rose to the challenge of having to clear the ball on his own, and even took a shot on net.

Other goals were scored by Spaight (3), Ignall (2), Squires (2), McNamara (1), and LaRoche (1).

Barrington, with an 8-2 record, is in second place in Division I standings behind undefeated LaSalle.
