Rogue oak topples power lines in Barrington

Posted

A rogue oak tree fell across Cove Avenue smashing power lines and snapping a pole at approximately 12:45 p.m. in Barrington on Friday. Power and tree crews are currently working to get the situation cleared as soon as possible. Barrington Police have parts of New Meadow Road sectioned off and are rerouting traffic around the area. There is some power loss locally, though it doesn't seem to be extensive at this time.  The cause of the tree falling was unknown according to police at the scene.
