Police received a 911 call from an employee at the Pet Valu store in the Barrington Shopping Center at about 3 p.m.
The employee said a woman with black hair, wearing a black jacket had just stolen numerous items from the store and fled on foot. Police dispatch reported that the woman ran into a Rumstick Road resident's back yard.
Police located Ms. Allard; she is allegedly known to be a repeat offender with shoplifting. Police said she had $391 worth of items in her possession that she stole from Pet Valu, including pet collars, leashes and treats.
