Police: Barrington residents report people taking photos of local homes

Two apparently unrelated incidents reported last week

Barrington Police shared two separate reports of suspicious people taking photos of Barrington homes last week.

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, a Hilltop Avenue resident stopped into the station and told police that a woman was spotted taking pictures of his home and a neighbor’s home on Aug. 24. The resident said the woman was driving a white GMC Acadia.

Also on Tuesday, Aug. 25, Barrington Police responded to the area of Miller Street and Wallis Avenue for a report of a man taking photos of properties. Police said a caller also reported seeing the man stumbling in the roadway. Police located the man, a 41-year-old Woonsocket resident. He told police he was looking for the beach. Police said they sent the man on his way, and that they did not have enough evidence to support a criminal charge.
