The Fabulous Thunderbirds play in Fall River

Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River is holding a concert series, with shows every weekend in August. 

The Fabulous Thunderbirds is performing on Saturday, August 13. Songs like "Tuff Enuff" and "Wrap It Up" have earned this Blues band critical acclaim. Founder Kim Wilson has found his own success as a solo artist. His album, "Take me Back" recieved a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album. 

The show is at 8:00 p.m., with doors opening at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $43 in advance and $45 the day of the show and can be purchased at narrowscenter.showare.com

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
