A Barrington resident called police on Monday, Dec. 7, after he spotted a man rummage through his mailbox, take a package out of it, open the package, and then throw the package on the ground.
The resident told police he had video footage of the entire incident. Police responded to the scene and spoke to the resident. They viewed the video footage and recognized the individual.
Police later spoke to the suspect's family and also shared the incident information with the Postmaster General. Police said the suspect may have also been responsible for tampering with Barrington residents' lawn signs recently.
