To the editor:
It's rare to actually know the candidate you plan to vote for. All too often, our decisions are shaped by political ads, debates, commentary, and the opinions of others. In the race for Barrington Town Council, I'm fortunate to know Neile Hartman. We live on the same block in the Lion's Head neighborhood, and I see and talk to her often. I've observed her in many settings and situations, and I've seen what she is made of.
I watched Neile start and lead a town-wide effort to challenge ShineHarmony’s aggressive plan for a misguided development that, if approved, could strain Barrington's infrastructure for decades. That effort took passion, energy, commitment, intelligence, and excellent communication skills, along with common sense and sound logic. These are exactly the qualities we need in our civic leaders.
