Letter: Ode to the honor roll in Barrington

Posted

To the editor:

Many young families choose our town

For a school dept. that's renown

Every quarter the "Honor Roll" there's to see

Making us as proud as can be

But wait, what's that I hear?

There will be no "Honor Roll" this year

Some students are feeling stressed and sad

As honors are theirs to be had

That's right, life's not fair

All students don't get honors high

Some don't care

Some don't try

Have if you will

A "Progress report"

Of students who "consistently/some of the time

Demonstrate a skill!

But let's not take the "honor" away

From those who achieve a special day
