To the editor:

I am a Navy veteran, and moved to Barrington three years ago. Since that time, each Veterans Day, I have been gifted special thank-you presents from a group of local Barrington families, in honor of my service. This year — a box of delicious homemade brownies. The families evidently have an informal list of local veterans to support, like myself.

I cannot express how thoughtful, and kind, this gesture is. Truly warms my heart. Such gifts reflect the values of these dear people, and the values of our community. They remind me how lucky we are to live here.

The families behind this effort are unnamed, and seek no recognition - I have no idea who they are. But I think it is fair to thank them, through this venue, for their wonderful effort.
