John Caserta, 88, of Roffee Street, Barrington, died peacefully on Nov. 9, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ilvana (Marcoccia) Caserta.
Born in Pontecorvo, Italy, a son of the late Paulo and Maria Giusseppa (Iannone) Caserta, he lived in Barrington for 65 years.
Mr. Caserta was a designer for the former Quaker Fabric Corp. for 43 years before retiring in 1998.
John was a graduate of the University of Rome Class of 1954 where he earned a degree in accounting.
Mr. Caserta was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He was a member of the Bristol Elks Club.
John’s passions were gardening and flowers, sketching and oil painting, traveling and spending time with his loving family.
Besides his wife of 65 years, he is survived by a daughter, Ann-Marie Sbardella and her husband Joseph of Warren; a brother, Vincenzo Caserta of Italy and three grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew and Brittney. He was the father of the late Domenic Caserta and brother of the late Maria Grazia.
His funeral was held on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington. Burial followed in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington.
