Miss Massachusetts 2005 shares special lesson with local Girl Scouts

Posted

Members of a local Girl Scout troop received a lesson on confidence and poise, during a special visit from Miss Massachusetts 2005.

Cristina Nardozzi Buehrer, a Barrington resident and professional model, met with Barrington Junior Troops 723 recently. Buehrer was excited to share some important tips with the local girls.

“I taught Barrington Junior Troop 723 to be confident entering any room, how to walk with confidence and poise, and even dusted off my Miss Massachusetts USA 2005 sash and crown for the girls to see,” Buehrer wrote in an email to the Barrington Times.

“The girls walked away with valuable life lessons on how to embrace their own unique qualities.

As part of the confidence and poise lesson, the Girl Scouts practices how to introduce themselves and present themselves in a positive way. The girls were a little nervous at the start, but soon became more comfortable, and later during the visit they even practiced how to walk like a model.

Buehrer wrote that she loves giving back to her community.

“If our children can learn strong communications skills now, it will serve them well through their lives,” she wrote.

The Junior Troop leaders, Alexa Tedoldi and Doreen Gavigan, wrote that the girls loved the visit from Buehrer.

The Girl Scouts who participated were Graysen Mello-Dumas, Ava Buehrer, Lily DiAngelo, Claire Moniz, Emma Valentine, Addison Lubelczyk, Claire Egal, Avery Martin, Grace Gavigan, Camille Piccerelli, and Laura Thurston.

Buehrer recently served as the chairwoman of the East Bay Cotillion.
