The Barrington High School boys hockey team clinched a spot in the Division I hockey playoffs with a 4-2 victory over Prout/Scituate Co-op on Monday, Feb. 17, at URI.
Charlie Ames got the team started with the first goal of the game, assisted by Callum Flaherty and Josh Leblanc. Jake Andreozzi added three additional goals to secure the victory, with assists by Owen Crain and Sam Faulkner. Steven Amaral was strong in net with 29 saves in the game.
The team has compiled a 6-6-1 record this season, currently seated in fourth place in Division 1, behind LaSalle, Hendricken and Mount St. Charles, with one game remaining in regular season play. Barrington's next game is Saturday at 8:30 p.m. against LaSalle at the Smithfield rink. Playoffs begin on Feb. 28.
