The Barrington High School boys ice hockey team skated to a 3-2 win over Pilgrim on Friday night, Jan. 26. A night later, the Eagles fell to Prout, 5-0.
Against Pilgrim, Barrington took an early lead. John O’Connell scored at the 13:00 mark of the first period. Ben Labreche and Ryan Claussen assisted on the goal.
The lead did not last long. Pilgrim knotted the score at 1-1 at the 10:46 mark of the first period, and the Patriots grabbed a 2-1 lead at 2:49 in the first.
The Eagles evened the score at 2-2 at 14:33 in the second period, when Adam Gorman scored. Henry Kelsey and Trevor Snow assisted on the goal.
Brock Carroll scored the game-winner for the Eagles at 2:23 in the third period. Gorman assisted on the power-play goal.
Dom Bruzzi made 28 saves in net for the Eagles.
Against Prout, the Eagles struggled to get on the scoreboard, but it was not for lack of effort, said BHS Coach Jacob Kapstein.
“Trevor Snow and Adam Gorman played tough and created opportunities offensively, and Joe Carmone and Cody Wood on defense were physical and played a solid game,” Kapstein said.
The Eagles are 6-3 in Division I standings.
Barrington will host Cumberland on Feb. 2.
