Church dinner raising money to help immigrants

Dinner set for Sunday, Dec. 11

The Barrington Congregational Church will host a pasta dinner on Dec. 11 to raise money for "English for Action," a nonprofit that creates "opportunities of self-empowerment for immigrants in the greater Providence area…" The dinner runs from 5 to 7 p.m. "

Church group learns about life on U.S./Mexico border.

Rev. Brendan Curran added "We invite you to come out for an evening of feasting with a panel of learners from English for Action, and discover how this rich and unique community is transforming the lives of immigrants and taking action to address the pressing challenges of our country today."

The event will also feature art and poetry and there will be door prizes. Tickets will be available at the door — $10 for adults, $6 for children under 12.
