Barrington Books celebrates grand re-opening

Posted

The owners of Barrington’s long-time independent bookstore Barrington Books recently closed their second location in Cranston and made a significant investment in the original Barrington Books location in the Barrington Shopping Center.

The all new Barrington Books features consistent wood tone flooring throughout, new ceiling and energy efficient lighting, custom natural wood cabinetry, and an enhanced, open layout including a new children’s reading area.

A special grand re-opening was held Saturday, April 24. It included literary themed exclusive products, live music by Barrington’s own Pat McGee, give-aways for kids, in-store contests and more.

When asked about the decision to consolidate, Barrington Books General Manager Jennifer Massotti said, “the world was a different place six plus years ago when we set out to tell our story to the rest of the state with the opening of our second location. We felt we needed two locations to share our indie flare with more Rhode Islanders. That’s not the case anymore.

“This was evidenced by the extraordinary support from our state-wide customer base that showed up for us big-time during last Spring’s shut down. Rhode Island is compact, our customers know they can count on our whatever-it-takes service whether on-line, in-store, or even over the phone. When it was time to decide which store to close, that decision was obvious. Barrington Books has been an East Bay institution for over 35 years. It has become a community hub, a meeting place for families, friends and neighbors. We have been blessed by the support of our loyal customers through all of our iterations. They deserve our renewed partnership and commitment for future growth in the Barrington community. We are proud to unveil a new, welcoming and enhanced shopping experience for all to enjoy for years to come.”
