Barrington High School students can celebrate another strong year for SAT scores.

Local students saw their SAT results increase from a year earlier. The BHS average scores on the SAT math and SAT language assessments were better than any other district in the state.

“I’m just proud of the work our students do, and the quality work our educators do,” said Barrington Superintendent of Schools Michael Messore. He said Barrington students succeed because of good instruction and good support.

The average SAT language score for Barrington students rose from 585 last year to 590 this year.

The average SAT math score for Barrington students rose from 570 last year to 586 this year.

Barrington’s average SAT scores are more than 100 points higher than the state averages. Barrington also boasts one of the best participation rates for any school — 99.6 percent of BHS students participated on the SAT assessments.
