Barrington High School seniors sign letters of intent

School recognizes 21 student-athletes during special ceremony

More than a dozen student-athletes from Barrington High School signed their National Letters of Intent during a special ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 8. 

In addition, the school also recognized several other BHS student-athletes who have made a commitment to their chosen post secondary academic institution. 

Following is a list of the 21 BHS student-athletes recognized at the event:

• Kate Gibson — Framingham State University — Volleyball

• Maddie Gill — Ithaca College — Basketball

• Avery Guck — Eckerd College — Sailing

• Grant Isdale — University of New England — Lacrosse

• Ethan Knight — Bucknell University — Track and Field

• Anna Lombardi — Virginia Commonwealth University — Lacrosse

• Winnie Macaulay — Scripps College — Lacrosse

• Ryan Martin — Trinity College — Track and Field

• Quinn McNamara — Ithaca College — Lacrosse

• Quinn Murphy — University of Maine — Baseball

• Ben Nowinski — Rhode Island College — Baseball

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
